Lavender 'Provence'
(Lavendula intermedia 'Provence')
Who says you can't grow lavender in North Texas? You just have to plant in gravel...drainage is essential or your plants will rot. We have found 'Provence' to be the most reliable. It has gotten quite large (3' x 3') and floriferous in some of our clients' yards. Don't baby it with good soil and don't overwater or fertilize. Best to mulch with pea gravel or decomposed granite, not wood. (Photo: Sunshine Lavender Farm)
